POPIA Act and Protection of Personal Information
UJ Press protects all the personal information of authors, reviewers, people involved in the collection of data, and stakeholders by safeguarding data and complying with relevant data protection acts and regulations. By ensuring that the identities of the authors and reviewers remain anonymous, the press does not share any personal information of either authors or reviewers during the review process. The information about authors is only shared with their consent on the publication of their manuscript.
UJ Press also requests that authors adhere to the Protection of Information Act for the people they may have engaged with in the process of their data collection, analysis and in storing their data.
Peer Reviews
All peer review reports are considered confidential information and are not shared with people outside of the editorial team. Peer reviews are not shared with other journals, publishers, editors or editorial teams. Peer reviews from other publishers are not accepted by UJ Press. All reviewers are expected to maintain the confidentiality of the manuscripts they review. This includes not sharing the content of the manuscript with anyone outside the review process.
Author’s Details
The details of all authors are considered confidential information and are only shared with the editorial team. Peer reviewers do not receive any information that may reveal the identity of authors. Only if a manuscript is published are the details of authors shared with readers, reviewers and anyone who accesses the publication.
